    • Thank you! I find myself working with a lot fewer colours at a time now as I feel it is an area where I have a lot of room for improvement. Your comment is appreciated – it is clear from your blog that you have a sensitive eye for colour yourself.

    • Thank you for your kind words. I enjoy being in that space where I find that I am no longer thinking about what I’m painting and instead just painting and watching to see what happens. I find it much more difficult to achieve that same experience while drawing – although I keep working towards it and hoping it will come more naturally with time.

    • Thank you. I hope to do more of them to play with other colours and possibly with different styles. I like the idea of minimizing the complexity in order to focus on only a few aspects of a painting at a time.

  1. Your paintings have a sense of calmness and control – control in the sense that the colour and composition are well-thought out. My favourite piece is A Crane Called Frank. The texture in the background gives the painting visual complexity and works conceptually because it starts to hint at the paper material of the crane. Great work!
