“Fear is the enemy of art. But it’s a misfortune to be in complete control and a gift to feel slightly lost.” – Melanie Peter

Still feeling a little lost and uninspired these days with my art. And that’s ok. I will continue and see what happens next. Here are a few of my warm-up drawings from March and April – complete with really inconsistent colour casts.

    1. Yes – it is a delicate balance. I hadn’t thought about it that way before but it reminds me of the characteristics of being in the ‘flow’ state and the flow difficulty curve. How ideally you want to have the right balance between no challenge (boredom) and too much challenge (frustration). Maybe that’s half the battle in staying motivated and persevering to create – the ability to recognize where I am on that curve and then course correcting to get back into a space where I am enjoying myself more of the time and growing in the process. Sally, I always find your comments thought-provoking – thank you!
